Erosion Series
Porth Y Rhaw
This is an instalation piece with a film that depicts an unfired porcelain Jar in a river. The Jar is eroded and eventually washed away by the flow of water.
Rivers are unique place where a sense of both space and time are overt. By removing and firing a series of partially eroded Jars I capture a moment in time. Formed by hand the pieces are altered by nature thus highlighting our intricate relationship with the landscape.
The film and a series of partially eroded Jars form part of The Crafts Council’s Real to Reel touring exhibition which explores film as material in making.
